Replacement fixes a settled slab, where leveling only buys time on a failed base. We tear the old concrete out and haul it away. The subgrade gets compacted and four to six inches of crushed stone goes down to drain and carry the load. We pour 4,000 PSI air-entrained concrete, reinforced and saw-cut with control joints every ten feet or so, pitched to shed water. The joints put the crack where we want it.
